NFL Season........HURRY!

I am so excited for the NFL season to start and I am going to need it more and more as the dummies that run the NHL don't figure to get that settled anytime soon. I have the fantasy teams ready to go (except one draft left) and I can't wait. I wish I had a few extra grand laying around because there are a few bets I really like this year.

Jets - Under 8.5 wins

They look terrible and they are terrible. Defense is solid but I think a touch overrated now and on offense they are a mess. I have said for years Sanchez looks average at best and Tebow brings them nothing at QB. Last year was a total fluke as Denver won a few games they had no right winning. That does not happen every day. Sorry jesus - Tebow is awful under center and they will struggle all season. Might beat up lowly Miami but the rest is going to be a long season.

Atlanta - Over 9 games

I think this is the year. They break out and really contend. Julio Jones and Roddy White are sick........in a great way. They are so solid and I think they final let Ryan toss the ball around a little more. He might join the elite this year with 35+ TD unless Turner steals a bunch of short TDs from the 1 or 2 yard line.

I will post a few more bets I love coming in the next few days and they give my rundown for week 1 and which games I want to bet. You can bet the Jets will not be one of the teams I pick to win.

What a day!

I just got done doing more yard work after a busy and crazy morning at a trade show for my kids from school. It was great but just another measure as to why are kids are so far behind the suburban kids. That is an entirely different discussion.


Huge game 2 tonight for the NHL Stanley Cup finals. I expect Boston to be more physical, especially towards the Sedins. I think it is almost worth it to take a penalty early trying to rough on the up. Nothing crazy like a major but a really hard rough might be worth it.  They also need to fire the puck, from everywhere.  Get it to the net and crowd the crease! Here we go..............I am saying Boston 3 - Vancouver 1.

I was recently entered into a Brady vs. Manning debate I am going to bring up here soon. The choice is obvious to me.

Yard Work and Stanley Cup!

I'll start by saying this.......yard work sucks! You work hard and sacrifice to get the bigger house and it just means spending more time than you did before making it look nice. It never ends and it is crazy how much your view on it changes from when you were a kid. I would cut off a finger if it meant getting out of yard work to play football with the Benson crew..............never seemed to work and I'm glad it didn't. I understand my fathers point of view now.

Low scoring (zero scoring so far) but the game is really exciting for the start of the Stanley Cup.  I am OK with both teams winning because I respect them both but I think the Canucks will eventually pull it out - six games but I can see it going seven.  Bostons best chance is to smack the Sedin's around a little. I think it gets them off their game a little.

NBA Finals

Well.....they start tonight and I think this should be a great series.  Not the ultimate NBA fan but do follow and watch enough to have a solid feel. I do know Lebron is best player in the NBA and if you think otherwise you are an idiot. You don't have to cheer for him, like or want him to win...but he is a beast on the court. He can dominate the game in so many ways. I think he at times makes poor shot choices and should drive to the hoop more, but he looks like he is playing vs. JV players at times.

I would love Kidd and Dirk to get the title as well so I am kind of in a good spot. With that said and watching the game now I will take the Heat in 6. I just think they are too good and this title will validate "The Decision" like it or not.  Many people, including myself hate the way he went about that and I think there was more to it we don't know about. But if they win, he will get exactly what he changed teams for and that makes it the right choice for Lebron.  All his haters should be MAVS fan big time or else Lebron's choice was the correct choice.

Boise St. win!!!

Poker night was amazing and I finished up over $100 so that works. I watched the Boise game tonight and it makes me sick that college football can't get their shit together and get a playoff system. You can keep all the shitty bowls and they can make the money they want.  Keep playing the god damn "Vlasic Pickle Bowl" because nobody watches it until they know someone playing, go to the school or put money on the game - but at least get the system correct so there can be an actual champ. I would love to see Boise or TCU to get shot at the one of the big boys.

Poker Night!!!

I'm hosting poker night tonight and am so excited. Poker is an amazing game and it usually goes along with lots of beer, drinks, foul language and of course the chance to takes someones money. When I play with my friends it is so different than playing with strangers. I always want to win but my the main focus with friends to having fun, making fun of them and getting it in return.

If you are a guy and don't enjoy poker night, check for a set of nuts. You simply are not a man. Maybe you you never were at the right table? Maybe your friends suck? Maybe you are just a douche bag? I am not sure which of those it is - but trust me it is one of those things mentioned. I'll leave you with this to get you back into POKER MIND SET!

Fantasy Baseball....I am getting excited!

I have been playing fantasy sports almost as long as they have been around.  I played fantasy football forever now and hockey almost just as long - but I have only occasionally joined a basketball or baseball league and it was free.  Last year I joined a work league for baseball because the people were friends and it was cheap. This year is different.  I am really getting into it, looking at strategy and buying magazines to get some added info.  I do most of the research and stuff on my own but the cheat sheets are helpful and it gives my stats that i like to use.

I have my entire strategy planned out and really look forward to the draft. As always - I have the last pick and with keepers it really limits the talent but I guarantee a better performance than last season. I think the OF is pretty deep and 2B is as well when compared to SS. I certainly will keep doing the work needed to win but any advice from veteran Fantasy Baseball players is appreciated.
